Principles

Our Guiding Principles form a "Three Step Plan To Success" initiated by the Young New Zealanders Foundation.  The plan grew out of needs identified by the Foundation from their work with young people, their families and teachers for over 15 years.

This three step plan caters for the needs of young people in a wide variety of  circumstances.  It offers help to young people:

  • trying to survive in situations beyond their control;
  • in learning essential skills and keeping safe and healthy;
  • striving to achieve success and making the most of their lives.

We strongly believe that our work meets the needs, not only of each individual person it helps, but also the needs of New Zealand as a nation.  Our vision is for:

  • a strong and confident New Zealand;
  • safe and healthy young New Zealanders;
  • keen and willing young New Zealanders.
